I would also love for them to come up with a creative solution to the start/end point z-zipper effect beyond just playing with coasting and retraction or telling the slicer to align them. More accurate time estimates – OK might be dreaming on that one!.
giving yet another reason to update to professional 3D printing software.
Choose support anywhere, rather than just from the base – You can place support but would be great to be able to choose a short branching piece of support from, say, another feature (like in Meshmixer) A leader in 3D printing software, Simplif圓D and manufacturer of desktop 3D.Automatic, variable infill density – Cura can do this, would be great to have this ability in S3D – cut down print time and support just where surfaces need it.Automatic, variable layer heights – You can do this manually, but Prusa Slic3r can do this dynamically, saving time and improving print quality. So which new features would you like to see? Here’s my wish list …
It will be a free upgrade to existing users, and even if you purchased now, you will also receive the upgrade as soon as it’s available! Included are slicer profiles, documents and a setup video at the bottom of the page. Simplify 3D came back to say everyone would get the update, and it will be free – good news! This is a resource page for the Creality CR-10 MAX.
If you didn’t already see, Joel has been given early access and likes what he sees. I thought I was paying for a lifetime Simplif圓D license, not a lifetime Simplif圓D 4.x license. With the news that Simplify 3D finally is getting an update (official!), what would you most like to see? Something to make up for effectively misleading their customers. Not because I no longer want to use S3D, I really do, but just as a means of protest over feeling scammed.Īt the very least they should give a longer free update period to anyone who purchased S3D before this 1 year update thing was added. I'm actually considering to ask for a refund because of this. I would never have spent the 150 if I had known I would need to keep paying for updates after just 1 year (which is ridiculously short considering the purchase price). Now they just edit in this "oh by the way, after just 1 year you will be left with an outdated no-longer-maintained product unless you pay more"? I purchased S3D 6 months ago to the day, and like most people the only reason I was prepared to spend 150 bucks on it was because it was supposedly a one-time purchase. I understand that they need to make money but this is a rotten move. The free slicers have come a long way and some passed the S3D mark in my opinion. After the first year you must pay for them. 3D Printing and COVID-19 Update, June 23, 2020: General Motors, Simplif圓D Jby Michael Molitch-Hou 3D Printing Companies, organizations and individuals continue to attempt to lend.
I will not spend money on the 5.# update if it doesn't contain something that I really need and can't be done with free slicers, I spent 150 already on it and I thought it would be lifetime updates, now they say it's lifetime license and only 1 year updates.
We are extremely excited for what's coming next and we look forward to another innovative year in 2019! The Simplif圓D team remains dedicated to our mission of providing you with outstanding tools and support that enable you to push the limits of additive manufacturing. Stay tuned for more information about the exciting new features and upgrade pricing later in the year as we get closer to the release of Version 5.0. Current installations of Simplif圓D will not have the most updated.
We also want to inform our users that Version 5.0 will be our first paid software upgrade. We recommend this if you are looking for a robust and reliable software workflow. Version 5.0 will incorporate changes to almost every facet of the product, allowing us to make major improvements to the software. At the same time, we are investing heavily into the development of Version 5.0, which is set to be the biggest update in our company's history. A new Version 4 update is already in progress to address many common requests. We have big plans for 2019! Our development team continues to incorporate many of your ideas into the future roadmap for Simplif圓D. This is from the S3D newsletter and I'm not linked to them.
